Our training is really for the humans!
At Debbie’s 4 Dogs LLC, I offer nothing but the best relationship-centered dog behavior consultant services. Sometimes we spend too much time trying to “fix” a dog when we should look at the reasons why a dog is feeling uncomfortable and go from there. I have completed my coursework in Applied Animal Behavior. I ...
When it comes to connecting and building trust with your fearful and reactive dog, new puppy, older dog or rescue who needs time to decompress, Debbie's 4 Dogs is not founded on the belief of a "one size fits all" approach.
My positive and caring coaching philosophy instills that every one-of-a-kind dog ...
Kindness always for the win! is my motto as I help you and your 4 legged loved one together on this journey of life.
As someone who once counseled humans, (In a past life) I can tell you that no human or dog should ever be subjected to aversive methods. Pain, fear, and intimidation only hurt a relationship. ...
Debbie has been so helpful with her virtual training since we got our puppy! She is displaying typical puppy behavior of playful biting, a few accidents in the house, alert barking, and fear of the car, and we have gotten so much great insight on how to extinguish these behaviors! So much of dog training is actually training the humans and we definitely needed her training! We will definitely continue using her services for as long as we need to, the fact that we have to do it virtually hasn't adversely affected the training process at all! We highly recommend her services!
This is my first rescue, and also my first time working with a behavioralist. Debbie clearly does it for the love of the animals and gave me great advice and important insight on why my doggie was feeling a little aggressive when I got him home. I recommend her for a virtual session for anyone with a rescue (or other pup). Thanks, Debbie!!
Debbie is amazing!! My husband, two children and I had Debbie come to our home to work with us and our new puppy Becca (socially distanced). Our training session with Debbie was informative and incredibly helpful. She patiently answered all of our questions and addressed any concerns we had. She equipped us with tools to work with Becca as she gets older as well. Thank you Debbie!!
Debbie is a miracle worker. Our 85 pound Great Dane/Pointer mix has been having some issues that we were not handling well.
We worked with one trainer who had us control all things of value to him and told us to keep him in his spot all the time unless he got up to drink or stretch. He was still insecure when we walked him and we couldn’t have anyone in the house that he didn’t know.
Another trainer came to our home and had me slam a large frying pan on his crate three times and say: No! No! No! When he barked or growled at her, to control him with fear. It didn’t help. We didn’t call her back.
I brought him to a dog psychiatrist 2 hours/ $550. I tried to explain what his issues were in our two hour session but the doctor didn’t seem to get it. We got a packet of papers with training suggestions. We never went back. It didn’t help.
I learned to be attentive to his triggers when walking him and made him sit and stay and gave him treats if he didn’t react to people or dogs on our walk. This helped. I realized he was reacting because he was afraid of people. I softly told him it was okay whenever he saw people and started getting nervous. Soothing him helped.
But then we found Debbie! She taught us how to train him with love. I noticed a huge difference in him before the end of our first training session! Her suggestions are working! He is much more relaxed when we are walking, and we are looking forward to our next training session! Debbie is bringing out the endearing sweet side of his personality! He is 4 years old now. I just wish we met Debbie when we first adopted him. Her approach is just what we all needed.
Debbie's compassionate training style was exactly what we needed for our little rescue. After experiencing a lot of trauma, our terrier Bilbo has had an extremely tough time trusting new people. Debbie exhibited the level of kindness and patience he needed and he immediately calmed down in her presence. She taught us about viewing situations from Bilbo's perspective and gave us some concrete strategies to help him feel safer and more confident around strangers and in new situations. I highly recommend Debbie's 4 Dogs to anyone looking to learn how to better communicate with their pup in a way that's both compassionate and effective!
Debbie was so helpful in getting our rescue, Addie, to accept our daughter when she came home for the holidays. She doesn't hesitate to answer my texts when I have new issues with my dog. She's all about positive reinforcement. I highly recommend her!
Debbie is absolutely amazing! I had a minor crisis with a new puppy and she responded to my call immediately. She took the time to schedule a visit with me in between clients that she had in my area. She was kind, compassionate, professional and a great resource to have at that moment. I highly recommend her services!
Debbie came to my house to help with my two rescue dogs. She gave great tips and kind, easy strategies to help train them. The dogs responded immediately to the training. I highly recommend Debbie if you need some help with your pups. She is so easy and lovely to work with
Debbie is amazing! She helped build so much confidence in our relatioship with our dog. She has such a natural way with dogs and people. we looked forward to every visit!
I reached out to Debbie a few weeks ago to work with Chip, our rescue pit, on some of his behaviors when walking/meeting new ppl and his reactions towards other dogs. She came armed with so much information and tips for me to work with. She understands the way dogs think and it shows. She gave me the science behind each of her techniques and made me feel confident in working with Chip. I would recommend her to anyone looking for help. We will def work with her again. Thanks Debbie! Kat & Chip
